Our MISSION is to make disciples, equipping them to build up the body of Christ in unity, faith, and love.

Equipping Believers To Glorify God
O ur goal at Riverview Baptist Church is not just to get people to come to church. Instead we are on a mission to lead people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and equip them with God’s Word and ministry skills necessary to make a difference in the world around them.
Riverview has a tremendous staff, excellent programs, and a great facility. We also have a wonderful history, and an even more exciting future.
B ut this is not what defines Riverview. Riverview is special because of the people. We are just like you. We are searching for God’s direction in our lives, striving to build meaningful relationships with those around us, and endeavoring to plug into something bigger than ourselves.
This is why at Riverview our goal is to equip you to impact your world for God. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in the life of Riverview, and I look forward to you being on the journey with us.
R iverview is a Southern Baptist Church that values:
- Heartfelt Worship – Genuinely praising God with a variety of songs and instruments.
- Expository Preaching – Sermons that are driven by the Scriptures, not current events, pop songs from the ‘80’s, or the pastor’s agenda.
- Unity in the Body – Loving and forgiving one another the way Jesus loves and forgives us. Our philosophy is: nobody is perfect, and since we all make mistakes we might as well love each other and move on.
- Loving our Community – Intentionally going outside the church building to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people around us.
About Riverview Baptist Church
The story of Riverview began in 1954 in Club 64, a bar located where the church building stands today. One Saturday night in March of that year the building was a honky-tonk, and the next day it was a church. The story of Riverview is a great reminder of our story as well. One day we are hopeless, lost, and walking in darkness, and then you come to faith in Jesus, and you wake up the next day saved and forgiven. Just like that old bar you become a ‘new creation’ 2 Corinthians 5:17
Discovering Riverview is a special four week class for new Christians, new church members, or people who are interested in learning more about Riverview.
