Pastors and Staff

Andy Jobe

Pastor

I was born in Blackwell Oklahoma and raised just west of there in the rural community of Lamont. I was saved when I was nine years old at Camp Lela Church Camp, and a year later in the fifth grade I felt God was calling me to be a preacher.

In college I was given the opportunity to grow in ministry through the Baptist Student Union at both Northern Oklahoma College, and Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where I graduated in 1993 with a B.A. in History. After fourteen years of chipping away at it; I graduated in 2011 with a M.Div from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

In 1989 I was licensed to preach by Northeast Baptist Church in Ponca City, OK, and in June of 1991 at the age of 21 I was called to my first pastorate, the First Baptist Church of Helena, OK. God has blessed me during my 35 years as a pastor with 18 of those years being right here at Riverview.

I have been married to my lovely wife Dustie for thirty-five years. Dustie is a Speech Pathologist, and enjoys running, and going to visit her family in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We are the proud parents of some great kids, Nolan and his wife Sheridan, Mason and his wife Kylen, and our youngest son O.B. We also recently entered the grandparent club and are known as Dee Dee and Dude by our sweet little granddaughter Charlotte.

Just for fun I like to hunt, fish, go for walks, dominate in fantasy football and spend time with my family and friends.

Victor Mendoza

Adult Minister

I am originally from Tulsa and came to faith in Christ when I was 10 years old. Me and my wife Janine joined Riverview in 1997. After serving for 10 years as a police officer, I was called to full time ministry. In 2008, I was called to Riverview as the Associate Pastor of Adults and Missions. I received my bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from Southern Nazarene University, and my master’s from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have been married to Janine for over 30 years. I have two daughters and three grandchildren. My favorite people call me Pappy. I enjoy hunting and fishing, classic muscle cars and spending time with family.

Jaxon Smith

Student Minister

I grew up in Seminole, OK in a Christlike family. My parents, Paul and Joy, as well as my siblings, Joshua and Janna, helped train me up in the faith. I received Christ at age 5, and surrendered to ministry the summer after 6th grade. After graduating from Seminole High School, I attended Oklahoma Baptist University to play baseball and study theology. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2025 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Student Ministry. Two weeks later, I married my amazing wife, Abby, whom I met at Super Summer in 8th grade. Now, we live in Bixby and serve together at Riverview. I love all things sports (both playing and watching) and investing intentionally in students. My life verse is Colossians 3:23, as I seek to do all that I do to glorify God.

Richard Stevenson

Worship Minister

I joined the staff at Riverview in 2015. Me and my lovely wife, Pam were married in 1992 and we have 3 children; Luke, Molly and Jack. We met at Oklahoma Baptist University where we both received music education degrees. Pam has been teaching elementary music since then while I took a more circuitous route to my calling.

After graduating from OBU, I went on to study vocal performance at Oklahoma City University where I received my Master of Music degree. I spent the next 7 years teaching private lessons, performing in summer stock theaters, and waiting tables. Finally, I decided that I needed to get a Doctorate degree in order to further my teaching career so Pam and I made the trek to Baton Rouge, LA to get a degree in performance with an emphasis in pedagogy at Louisiana State University. While attending there, I found a job leading worship at a small Baptist church and it was there that God solidified my calling into full time music ministry so we made the trek back to “God’s country” and have been serving here since then.

I am passionate about leading others into the throne room of God to worship in Spirit and Truth and to equip those in my care to become the worshipers and leaders that God has called them to be. In my free time I enjoy tennis, golf, going to movies, and going on vacations with my family.

Abby Smith

Communications & Ministry Assistant

I grew up in Marietta, Oklahoma and lived there until I moved to Bixby in 2025. My parents are Shane and Amy Norton, and I am the oldest of five kids, who are named Reese, Meleah, Cam, and Lincoln. Growing up, I was always heavily involved in church. My parents made sure that Christ was always at the center of the household. At the age of 8, I gave my life to Christ, and a few years later, I was called to ministry. In 2022, I graduated from high school, then in 2024, I graduated from Murray State College with an Associates Degree in Psychology. In May of 2025, I married my husband, Jaxon Smith. We met at Super Summer in 8th grade, then many years later, we started dating. I love spending time with family and friends, hiking and swimming, and doing ministry. I am thankful for Jesus and all that He has blessed me with!

Whether managing administrative details or supporting worship through audio and video, I am passionate about creating a space where people can connect, grow, and worship without distraction.

I am deeply committed to serving the church with excellence, always aiming to support its mission with integrity, innovation, and a servant’s heart.

Shawn Sloan

Office Administrator

I started my journey with Riverview Baptist Church in 2001, serving and meeting the needs of Riverview. My husband, Eddie, took a job out of state so I had to leave for a couple of years. We eventually moved back, and I was so blessed that Riverview had an opening for me. I have now been with Riverview right at 20 years total.

I was born in Upland CA. My parents moved to Oklahoma when I was four. I have lived most of my life in Glenpool, Ok. I am married to Eddie Sloan. He was my high school sweetheart. We started our adventure with college and then started a family. We have three of the most loving children. Steph, Danielle and Josh. We also have three biological grandchildren, Nathan, Alayna and Caleb. We also have five bonus grandchildren, Jono, Zeke, Sam, Carter and Kloe.

When I am not at Riverview, I enjoy being with my family, working in my flower garden and yard. I also enjoy watching and feeding birds. I have three Fury friends, Baby Zeke, Maisie and Suzie. Two are beagles and one is a teacup Yorkie.
