Life Trek Spring 2012 Classes

Life Trek is the name we have given to our Sunday night Bible Study classes. Our spring classes will begin on Sunday, January 15th. Each class will meet from 5:30-7:00pm. The cost of classes range from, free to $10.00. Below is a description of this semesters class offerings. You may sign up here online or at the church in the main hallway. Fees may be paid on one of the first two nights that the class meets. Childcare or age appropriate activities will be provided for preschool thru youth.

Christian History

Church history is not about names, dates, and facts. It is about the flesh and blood people of God and the life and death issues that have shaped their struggles and joys for two thousand years. Christian History Made Easy makes this story come alive! Bro Andy will lead this class as you examine the history of Christianity and discuss the book by Timothy Jones. Bro. Andy will leave no stone unturned as the participants in this study will become more familiar with the path that led us to where we are today and where we are heading in the future.

Gifted communicator Donna Carter believes the choices we make today define the quality of our lives tomorrow. First six weeks: Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours is a study with a friendly, lighthearted approach. Author Kevin Leman speaks directly from his experiences as a father of five and a practicing psychologist. While you won't find specific studies or statistics here, you will find straightforward, practical suggestions that often get right to the heart of troubling situations. Leman's technique, which he refers to as "reality discipline" is based on a particular passage from the Bible. His stance that parents' authority comes directly from God is a fundamental principle of his text. Nearly every suggestion is coupled with a real-life example of the behavior in discussion.

Second Six weeks:  Running the Rapids Deals with Raising teenagers, join Dr. Kevin Leman as he guides you through the turbulent waters of adolescence. Peer pressure, self-image, dating, sex—Leman covers them all in his trademark “no-holds-barred” style that will bring a smile to the faces and hope to the hearts of even the most beleaguered parents.

Join us for one or both six week studies as each will be beneficial to all parents and even grandparents. If you take the first six weeks the second will be at no additional cost.

James Bible Study

In this Life Trek class you will study the book of James, A letter that was circulated to believers in the first century who had been dispersed. As leader of the Jerusalem Church, James writes as pastor to instruct and encourage his scattered people in the face of their difficulties.

 Greg Sutmiller will lead the class as you dig deep into scripture to examine first hand the book of James. The Bible itself will be the primary text with study helps provided. There is no fee for this study.
